Katie, a freelance video editor in need of work, receives a high-paying offer from an anonymous employer to edit a mysterious and strange video. Experiencing a lack of money and risking being evicted, Katie gladly agrees to this job. The video even shows the torture and killing of people on camera — undoubtedly, a carefully staged fake. But when the first job leads to even more lucrative work and more frighteningly realistic crime films, Katie’s life begins to crumble. Strange characters in her apartment, terrifying nightmares that keep her awake, and a mysterious illness that afflicts her cat.
