A story of generations about families and the special place they live in, sharing love, loss, laughter and life.. It was first published as a strip in the comic book magazine Raw; in 1989, and was expanded into a 300-page graphic novel in 2014. At one point early in the film, Richard’s father names several towns that he says are on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, when in fact they are all towns, located along Interstate 80, PA, which had not even been built at the time.. The camera concept is stuck in one place, and the storytelling seems ambitious
Zemeckis has previously made classics like "Forrest Gump, the Back to the Future trilogy, "Who Framed Roger Rabbit, "The Polar Express"; and many other great works that I grew up with. However, after "The Walk" his work has been disappointing and disappointing to say the least. This film has a really ambitious and intriguing concept, but unfortunately, despite some solid and interesting moments, Zemeckis fails to properly experiment with the concept and ends up being boring and depressing. and creative.
There are some rough dialogue and pacing issues
With themes that are interesting and could be innovative to explore, but Zemeckis' direction and lack of emotional depth ruin what could have been a good film. Filled with bloated plotlines, an unbalanced structure, and underdeveloped characters, the emotional weight and engagement becomes more of a snooze fest. It’s almost as if Zemeckis had seen The Tree of Life but somehow missed the point of understanding what made The Tree of Life great and made it more mediocre and boring. The production design and camerawork are really good, and the use of face-swapping CGI is pretty seamless with the colors and motion.
Robert Zemeckis will always be one of my favorite directors
All the performances are good, as it’s nice to see Tom Hanks and Robin Wright together again, as they have good chemistry and scenes. However, it’s let down by a sloppy and rushed approach that really doesn’t do it justice. I grew up with him, but unfortunately his best years are long behind him.
