Mes MainsMusic by Gilbert Bécaud Lyrics by Pierre Delanoë
Local rebellious teenager Clotaire is caught up in his school friend Jackie – but gang violence leads him down a dark and destructive path. Years later, the star-crossed lovers find that every road they took leads them back together. Old.. One character wears a 1990s Rolex Daytona ceramic, but the watch was released in 2016..
The first part, with the children, is very good
The film should have ended there for the sake of the audience. And Gilles Lellouche will direct one of the best French teen romances of the decade. The rest of the film, the second act, is terrible. Actors François Civil and Adèle Exarchopoulos have no chemistry together, and their performances in this film are modest and uncompromising.
However, it falls with it an exaggerated and comically toxic masculinity
I suspect that both actors should rethink their own careers in French cinema after the two newcomers Mallory Wanecque and Malik Frikah outdid them and stole the show in this confusingly mediocre film. At first glance, this film seems like a modern take on The Count of Monte. Cristo .. I mean the old story of the young rebel who made mistakes and returns to seek revenge and find his beloved.
What we have already seen
A stylized and cutesy male gaze. The story loses credibility halfway through the second act and at the end. The problem beyond all weight is the strange determination that the film shows, claiming originality in every shot it presents without achieving it even once. Whenever it comes to deciding, it always chooses the most formal, the most obvious.
